    CGC · BRONZE, SILVER, GOLD

    The certificate that proves it.

The KUSA Canine Good Citizen ladder: the recognised proof that gets your dog welcomed into complexes, cafés and calm public life.

    Max 12·From R300/month·At your dog's pace·KUSA-aligned

Proof your dog is a good citizen.

    • You need a recognised certificate to move into a complex or satisfy a landlord.
    • You want your dog genuinely welcome in cafés and public spaces.
    • You're building towards Therapy or Service, where CGC is a step on the way.

New to training? Start with Obedience, then add CGC.

A real ladder, judged by KUSA.

Bronze, then Silver, then Gold. KUSA judges run the evaluations every three months, so the standard is external and real, not a certificate we hand out ourselves.

Each level pairs practical work with a short theory component on care and responsibility. Positive reinforcement throughout, in a class kept small so the curriculum actually gets covered.

    What you'll cover.

    • All three levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold.
    • Practical handling plus the care-and-responsibility theory.
    • Quarterly KUSA evaluations.
    • Stand-alone, bundled with Obedience, or included inside a Service or Therapy package at no extra cost.

    Before you start.

    • Up-to-date vaccinations, deworming, and tick & flea treatment, re-proved once a year.
    • Positive-reinforcement training throughout. Choke chains are discouraged and only ever used in a high-quality smooth-release form if a specific case genuinely calls for it.
    • Basic kit: a flat or half-check collar, a non-slip leash, and a favourite or tug toy.
    • Your dog's bed or blanket and a tug or interactive toy. CGC classes are for non-reactive dogs.

    From R300 a month.

R300/month standalone (Weekly weekend classes), R900/month bundled with Obedience, or included free inside a Service or Therapy package.

Billed monthly, with a R500 annual registration. No upfront ransom, and nothing that locks you in.

    A few quick questions.

    Why does CGC matter?

It's recognised proof your dog is well-socialised and safe in public, which complexes, landlords and pet-friendly venues take seriously.

    How long to Gold?

Level by level, at your dog's pace.

    When are the evaluations?

KUSA judges assess every three months, which keeps everyone moving steadily.
